The Brief Introduction Of Laser Cutting

Laser cutting uses a focused high power density laser beam to irradiate the workpiece, rapidly irradiate, vaporize, ablate, or reach the ignition point of the irradiated material. At the same time, the workpiece is cut by blowing molten material with a high-speed airflow coaxial with the beam. Laser cutting is one of the hot cutting methods. Laser cutting can be divided into four categories: laser vaporization cutting, laser melting cutting, laser oxygen cutting, laser scribing and control breaking.

The first three cutting methods are currently the main application of laser cutting. From the current situation of laser cutting machine application in the market, the laser is effective in cutting ferrous metals, and the cutting speed is fast, and the cutting thickness can reach 20 mm or more. Due to the reflection of the laser beam by the molecular structure of the non-ferrous metal, the laser is less effective in cutting non-ferrous metals, and the mirror must be equipped on the machine tool. According to statistics, the thickness of the cut aluminum alloy metal does not exceed half of the ferrous metal. Cutting copper alloys is even less effective, especially cutting copper.
